Juan retired as a Firefighter/Paramedic after 28 years of service. He then enrolled in culinary school and started a Paella Catering business which we both ran for over 6 years. Mary is retired from a long nursing career.

Back in 2016 we attended a conference for our fellowship of churches. One of the breakout sessions was about Empty Nesters and how God can use us in this time of our lives. Small church leaders shared how they desired for older disciples to come and enrich their fellowships.
